On June 30, 2012, I officially retired after 43 years in public education. I began my career in September of 1968 as a classroom teacher and continued that path for the next 18 years. I finished my career as a School Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker. I guess one could say I’ve had two careers in public education, more than that if I add coaching soccer, basketball, track and tennis at the varsity level. Among the things I will miss are the daily interactions with my colleagues, people that I have admired so much for so long. It is my hope that blogging will help to fill that hole at least a little bit.
I anticipate an active retirement which will include teaching psychology part-time at the college level. Other interests that will probably find their way onto these pages are ballroom dancing, photography, blues harmonica, Native American heritage, technology, reading and social commentary.
