Columbus Day 2012

Woke up early this morning and decided to take my camera for a drive around town. I was hoping for dramatic lighting to capture the beautiful October foliage. What I got was fog . . . followed by a brief window of sun before Grandfather climbed into the low hanging clouds. Although it wasn’t the brilliant autumn morning I envisioned, the breaking day had a quiet beauty that radiated peace and tranquility. . . Good Morning, Southwick.

Thanks, Hon . . . You know where all these spots are. It was quite different than the vibrant splash of color I anticipated. . . a very peaceful, serene start to the day.

  3. Absolutely love these. While you may not have anticipated the fog, I think it worked great on these pictures.

Thanks, Ry . . . Any time is good picture taking time. There was a certain “feel” to the morning that I tried to capture. If you look closely at the picture of the dock you’ll see a heron and seagull sleeping on the end.
